Bonus code not working: what went wrong and how to fix it
You typed the code, paid, and the bonus balance still says zero. Before you write to support, it’s worth five minutes to find out which of a handful of ordinary mistakes it was. Most of them can be fixed, as long as you haven’t started playing.

First: stop, and don’t play the deposit
This is the one piece of advice that matters more than the rest. If the bonus hasn’t appeared, don’t start spinning with the deposit while you sort it out. Once a deposit has been played, most casinos can’t attach a welcome match to it any more, because the bonus is meant to be calculated on an untouched first deposit. Leave the balance alone, take a screenshot of the cashier, and work through the list below.
The usual causes
1. A typing slip
The most common reason by far. A space copied before or after the code, a zero typed as the letter O, or an autocorrect that “fixed” the code into a word. Type it by hand rather than pasting it. At the casinos we review, case doesn’t matter: WIN300, YOUR250 and CAS100 went through in lower case as well when we tested on 23 September 2026.
2. A code from another casino
Welcome codes belong to the casino that issues them. Sister sites often look alike, and it’s easy to type ZESLOTS250 into CasinoPurple or WIN300 into ZeSlots. The cashier will refuse it, correctly.
3. It isn’t your first deposit
Welcome codes are first-deposit offers. If you made a small test deposit last week and are only now entering the code, the casino sees a second deposit. The same applies if you had an account at the site before and forgot about it.
4. The deposit was below the minimum
At the five casinos we review, the general minimum deposit was €25 and €30 on the card and Revolut routes when we checked in September 2026. A promotion can set its own threshold on top of that, so the promotions page is worth a glance before paying.
5. The code went in at the wrong moment
The code belongs in the promo box on the registration form, or in the cashier before you confirm the payment. Typed into a chat window, a profile field or after the deposit has landed, it does nothing.
6. The payment route is excluded
Some promotions leave out particular payment methods. If your code was refused only on one route, the terms will usually say why.
7. One account per person
Welcome offers are limited to one per person and household. A second account opened to claim the offer again will normally be refused the bonus, and can have bigger consequences than that.
8. The offer isn’t available where you are
Promotions vary by country. If everything above checks out, ask support whether the offer applies in your country before assuming a fault.

What to tell support
A message that gets a quick answer has four things in it: your username, the code exactly as you typed it, the time and amount of the deposit, and a line saying you haven’t played the deposit. The last one matters, because it tells the agent the bonus can still be attached. A screenshot of the cashier helps. Live chat is usually quicker than email for this sort of question.
If support explains that the code can’t be added, you still have a clean cash balance with no wagering attached. That’s not a bad outcome: it can be withdrawn whenever you like.
Getting it right next time
- Read the promotion page once before registering, especially the minimum deposit.
- Type the code by hand, without spaces.
- Enter it on the registration form, then check it’s still shown in the cashier before you pay.
- Check the bonus balance straight after the deposit, before the first spin.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the casino say my bonus code is invalid?
The usual reasons are a typing error, a code from a different casino, a deposit that is not the first one, or a deposit below the minimum. Check those four before contacting support.
Are casino bonus codes case-sensitive?
